Type III barricades have three reflective 8 inch high rails, 4’ wide or larger, with alternating 6 inch 45 degree orange and white stripes. Type III barricades are primarily used where it is necessary to close a road completely. Typically Type III barricades are positioned across the width of the entire roadway, with little or no space between. When used to close roadways, Type III barricades must also support the appropriate signage. These signs would include, but are not limited to: ROAD CLOSED, DETOUR, LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY
